Inland Lakes

Lake Michigan is spectacular,

but don‘t let it overshadow Leelanau County‘s many smaller lakes, which offer a more intimate, secluded experience. Glen Lake, with its clear, still waters and views of the dunes is a popular spot for swimming and boating, but the secluded Shell Lake is beloved of fishermen, while Lime Lake and Little Traverse Lake are great options for swimming, canoeing, and kayaking. Lake Leelanau is the largest inland lake in the region and offers lots of opportunities for boat rental, fishing, swimming, and lazing on the beach.
