Sports enthusiasts will find a variety of game in and around the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.  Whether you hunt for deer, upland game, or waterfowl, you'll find that the region's unparalleled natural beauty and long tradtions of sportsmanship and stewardship lead to some of the most challenging and rewarding hunting anywhere.  Seasons vary, but in general permits are available for waterfowl in the fall, wild turkey in the spring, and whitetail deer in the fall and winter.  Some permits operate on a lottery system and require advanced registration, others do not.  It is also worth noting that, though hunting is generally permitted in the National Pakr, some exceptions do apply.  For more information, please visit Michigan Department of Natural Resources or the National Park Service for more information.
