Dune Climb Concert
12 July 2015
This year’s Annual Dune Climb Concert will be with The Hip Pocket, based in Grand Rapids, MI. This eleven-piece band has been entertaining crowds for over twenty years. They perform at festivals each year and have opened for artists such as The Temptations, The Four Tops, and Patti LaBelle. Though diverse in its musical styles, The Hip Pocket specializes in music made popular by bands such as Chicago, Tower of Power, Earth, Wind & Fire, as well as hits from the Big Band and Motown eras.
There is no charge for the 7:00 p.m. concert; however, a National Park pass is required for parking. Free shuttle busses will provide transportation to overflow parking lots. Bring chairs or blankets to sit on. Some folding chairs are also provided in front of the stage. In the event of rain, the show will go on at the Glen Arbor Town Hall.
The annual Dune Climb concert is supported this year by a grant from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs as well as other generous doantions.
