GAAA Watercolor Workshop

3 October 2016 - 6 October 2016

Painting Landscapes with Don Andrews
$445 members/$460 non-members
4 days: October 3, 4, 5, and 6 | 9 am – 4 pm
The Homestead, Glen Arbor

Learning to paint with watercolor should be fun! Don’s workshop is
geared specifically for artists eager to paint and study in a no-stress
studio environment. Each day, he will focus on major visual concerns;
light, color, granulation, organizing nature and utilizing negative
space are just a few subjects to be addressed.

Don’s workshop is not geared to any specific level of achievement;
rather, artists at all levels will benefit from a more intimate understanding
of the many possibilities available in the exciting world of
landscape painting. This workshop will be packed with demonstrations,
discussions, individual help, and personal and group critiques.

Students gain a clear understanding of the many uses of light. Don
will help demystify color in a logical way and show how to lose our
fear of mud. He will spend one day explaining how we can loosen
up to make a more personal watercolor statement. Another day he
will demonstrate how figures can be introduced to make landscape
paintings come alive. Students will also benefit from his demo on
mixing colors on the page, called granulation. All this and much
more in a no-pressure, fun studio environment.

Classes will be held at The Homestead where special room
rates will be available for participating students. We thank
The Homestead for providing us with a classroom in the
Mountain Flowers Lodge.
