Empire Museum Complex Heritage Day
8 October 2016
Heritage Day at the Empire Area Museum Complex in Empire will be celebrated on Saturday, October 8th, 2016 from 1:00 pm to 4pm!
This year will feature a presentation by Elizabeth Mitchell, soprano and Ted Badgerow, tenor. Called the Dodworth Duo, they will bring songs to life with vocals and instruments from the 1835-1895 era. Vintage cars, tractors, hit and miss engines, and much more fill the grounds around the museum along with old fashion craft and food demonstrations making this a fun filled afternoon for the whole family. Enjoy our woodworking shop, blacksmith shop, turn of the century saloon, one room school, fire house and barn filled with 15 pieces of horse drawn equipment. The complex has just added a 44 foot addition to our Billy Beeman Barn with an 8 foot porch running it’s entire length. Historic walking tours of the village will take place during the afternoon. Music of all kinds will fill the air for your enjoyment. A beautiful hand crafted quilt by the “Empire Quilters” will be raffled at 3:00PM...Tickets will be available!!
Please bring the whole family and help us celebrate our 43th Anniversary
