According to a report this month in the Traverse City Record Eagle, the fate of the 100-year-old Port Oneida Schoolhouse has Glen Lake Community Schools board members and local nonprofits raising their hands and offering answers.

Platte Point Plover Spotted In Cuba
According to the Facebook page of the Great Lakes Piping Plover Recovery Effort, a female piping plover that usually breeds at Platte Point in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore was spotted in Cuba over the winter months by birders J. Rock and A. Jiménez who reported this sighting and allowed GLPPRE to use their photo to share this exciting first. Click here to read more.
Private Companies Operating In Sleeping Bear
As the popularity of the Sleeping Bear Dunes as a vacation destination continues to rise, so opens the door to private companies looking to offer experiences inside the park that the National Park Service cannot. From yoga classes to scattering ashes, there are 21 businesses now operating within the boundaries of the Lakeshore, according to a report this month in the Traverse City Record Eagle.
